To fulfill our grant requirements and make a real impact, we are looking for passionate volunteers. No expert knowledge is required—we will provide all the necessary training materials.
What you’ll do:
Greet boaters at the launch with a friendly smile.
Hand out educational materials and "swag."
Show boaters how to inspect their watercraft for invasive plants and animals.
We have scheduled three key events where we need your help to staff our outreach booth and assist at the boat launch:
We will have a booth at the boat launch between 9am-Noon for each of these events.
Summer Kickoff Blitz Saturday, June 13 Educating boaters on free fishing weekend.
AIS Awareness Week Friday, July 3 Reaching holiday crowds using our lakes
Summer Roundup Saturday, August 1 Assisting boaters as they move between lakes
If you can spare a few hours on any of these dates, please email reynoldslakecommunication@gmail.com or contact Linda Weber or Nick Andrews directly.
Even a two-hour shift makes a massive difference in keeping our lake pristine for future generations.
Let’s work together to keep our waters clean, blue, and invasive-free!

If you’re looking to create a more sustainable, low-maintenance landscape, native plants are the way to go. Because they are adapted to Michigan’s climate, they have deep roots that help with erosion control and water conservation while supporting our local ecosystems—all without needing extra fertilizers or pesticides.
Whether you're interested in shoreline planting, starting a rain garden, or just adding some hardy plants to your garden, this is a chance to browse their selection and talk to the experts, as they are only open a few weekends a year.
The Plan:
Meet up: 9:30 AM
Arrive at Hidden Savanna: 10:00 AM
Return to Reynolds Lake: Noonish
Please email Linda at reynoldslakecommunication@gmail.com
Here is their website for more information: Hidden Savanna

Reynolds Lakes Invasive Plant Watch, TBD
Join in our kayaking (or any small vessel) event to identify invasive aquatic plants in Reynolds Lake.
We will be doing this monthly starting in May weather permitting. We will be looking for invasive aquatic plants and taking pictures and noting locations of these plants. We had a lot of fun doing this before and learned a lot about what plants are in our lakes. If you need a kayak please let us know. Hope to see you participate when you can.
More information to come.
Lake Channel Cleanup on Saturday, August 22nd at 9:00 AM
Over time, the lily pads have taken over which have made parts of the channel more difficult to navigate, and this is a great opportunity to come together as a community and take care of our shared space.
Our goal for this event is to expand the current waterway, only to improve navigational safety for boaters, reduce the risk of property damage, and enhance the overall visual appeal of the area.
Please note that we are NOT clearing individual properties.
If you’re available, we’d love to have you join us. We’ll meet at the Upper Reynolds channel entrance at 9:00am.
Bring gloves, rakes, and anything else you think may help. Boats or kayaks are also welcome if you're able to bring one.
This is a great way to keep the lake beautiful, and connect with neighbors. Please let me know if you’re able to volunteer so we can plan accordingly.
